IMO you should never train T1s. The problem there is that if you ever get attacked; be it that you are in a chaotic state; get hit by some rogue whale; or ultimately get attacked by a whale in SvS; those T1s are useless. They will fill your infirmary fast, and you end up with those higher tier troops as losses instead due to infirmary being full. There's a niche case where T1s are useful -- very early game when you don't have enough troops to gather multiple nodes at the same…
